I got an assignment for a Silver Brooch award and it offered me a chance to take inspiration from The Seven Liberal Arts series. So, I combed through the ones that would fit and decided to go with Arithmetica, from the Seven Liberal Arts, by Johann Sadeler circa 1570s.

I wanted something that would fit more into the Arts and Science scene as opposed to the Martial scene. And this particular piece offered up something that was very identifiably Arts and Science.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of it with the calligraphy or a copy of the words.
